China Travel Photography Guide

Yellow Mountain is one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited. The scenery is simply sublime and its reputation as one of China's most spectacular landscapes is well earned.

I’ve visited and photographed the Forbidden City on two occasions. It’s a wonderful site that provides a great introduction to the power of former imperial China and to the pampered and cloistered life of Emperors from days past.

China is a country of great beauty, and the opportunity to document the people of this ancient and diverse nation is a project well worth pursing for the enthusiastic travel photographer.

Making dramatic photos of the landscape isn’t easy. If it was, everyone would be doing it. However, over the years, I’ve discovered a direct link between the weather and those incredibly dramatic photos of the natural world we’d all like to create ourselves.

It’s not always easy to remain calm and collected when making photos in public places. Thankfully, my own photo adventures have taught me that good manners can go a long way to ensuring a great travel photography experience.

Your ancestry speaks to your background, but what relevance does that have to your current life, your worldview and your family legacy? I’ve discovered that the process of making really epic photos is a great way to explore one’s family legacy and, in doing so, help us determine our place in this world.

Making amazing snow photos can be a technically difficult and physically exhausting experience. I've always found the process to be challenging, yet rewarding.

Travel isn’t always easy. My adventures include good and bad travel experiences, adding to the richness of my life and giving me wonderful stories to tell.

While exploring the spectacularly beautiful Yellow Mountain in China I happened across two snowmen, of the frozen water variety.

Yellow Mountain, located in Anhui Province, China offers amazing opportunities for landscape photography. During my visit I was pleased to discover that, in addition to the sublime alpine scenery, making photos of workers on the mountain was also possible.

Bold and striking, yet serene and sublime, Chinese architecture can be breathtakingly beautiful to behold.

Have no doubt, China is an amazing place. There’s so much to see and so many incredible China holidays to experience across this remarkable country.
