Travel Photography Guru - B&H Lightroom 5 One Day Sale
Hey Folks, now have I got a deal for you!
I'm a huge Lightroom (made by Adobe, the company who brought you Photoshop) fan and the latest version (i.e. Lightroom 5) is available at a significantly reduced price from B&H in New York. But only for one day.
Now I've been shopping at B&H since the early 90's (by fax in those days) and have found them to be both reputable and prompt. Their prices are also very competitive.
The only thing, for folks outside of the USA (and possibly the rest of North America) is the relatively high freight charges. Nevertheless, when placing a decent sized order it's really not an issue.
The great news here is that, for today only, they have a special offer where you can purchase Adobe Lightroom 5 (its full name is Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5) for $99. That's $50 off their usual price. And because you'll be buying it by download, there's no freight charges.
Just two potential caveats to consider. To get the special price you'll need to do the following:
- Hit the BUY NOW button
- On the Product page click 'Add to Cart'
- On the Cart page look for the 'Helpful Links' section on the bottom of the cart and enter the Promo Code (see below)
- Hit the Apply button
- You'll be asked to login (existing customers) or register (new customers)
The promo code you'll need is as follows:
By registering you'll likely be signing up for weekly updates by email as to new products and special. I find this worthwhile though you can, of course, unsubscribe at any time.
The second caveat relates to overseas customers. While I've been purchasing from B&H for many years I'm yet to purchase and download software through their site. For anyone living outside of the USA that might prove a problem. But, as I'd previously bought the product locally (online from Adobe Australia), I'm not in a position to test this out for you.
Now I do recommend Lightroom for anyone wanting to better manage and process their photos to a high quality standard. Unlike Photoshop it is an extremely intuitive and quick application to use. However, you'd really benefit by having it explained to you, in a hands on practical session, from someone with expertise in using and teaching the program. And, yes, that would be me.
I find that after a single 3 hour session folks have got their head pretty well around the fundamentals of the program. After 2 sessions they're comfortable and able to work on their own with relative easy. Competency after a single session, with expertise coming over time and with practice. And I do strongly recommend this Lightroom 5 to enthusiast and professional photographers alike.
Here's a link to a Special Deal I'm currently offering for my one-on-one and small group photography sessions.
